Therapy for parents at Cabezas Therapy is a space to be honest about all of it. Not just the beautiful parts. The parts that are heavy, confusing, and sometimes isolating too. We work with parents navigating stress, guilt, identity, relationship strain that comes with raising kids, and the emotional weight of loving someone so deeply while trying to hold yourself together at the same time.

Many of our clients are navigating something most therapists don't understand: raising children in polyamorous households while dealing with cultural expectations, extended family judgment, the everyday logistics of multiple adults co-parenting, or parents navigating the conversations with their loved ones These parents often feel isolated—their non-monogamous friends don't have kids, and their parent friends don't understand their relationship structure.

Our practice welcomes & supports polyamorous parents and chosen families across New York. Clients work through practical challenges like explaining family structure to children, managing time between partners and kids, dealing with school systems, and healing from family-of-origin trauma while building something completely different. The approach is practical, culturally grounded, and judgment-free.
