Parental Mental Health Care

Compassionate Therapy Services for Parenthood

We provide support and guidance for everyone embarking on the journey of parenthood, whether you've planned for this moment, find yourself navigating this path unexpectedly, or are exploring assisted reproductive technologies such as IVF, sperm donation, and other fertility treatments. This includes individuals and partners dealing with the challenges of planning for a child, experiencing pregnancy, embracing motherhood or fatherhood, undertaking parenting, and providing caregiving. Our inclusive approach welcomes abbas, moms, dads, partners, family members, and anyone stepping into a parenting role, intentionally or through assisted means. Parenthood encompasses a range of experiences, from highs to lows, and we're here to provide a safe space for you to explore your emotions and experiences.

While much of the focus during the perinatal and postpartum period is on moms, dads and partners are affected, too. The emotional toll of preparing for and adjusting to a new baby can lead to anxiety, stress, or even depression for dads as well. Juggling the pressure of supporting your partner, bonding with the baby, and keeping up with work can feel overwhelming. Addressing your mental health during this time isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s an essential part of showing up for your family. Taking care of yourself mentally and emotionally allows you to be the partner and parent your family needs.

For queer and trans parents, there are unique challenges that come with navigating parenthood. Whether it’s dealing with societal pressures, legal concerns, or finding inclusive healthcare, LGBTQ+ families often face additional stressors. Trans dads, non-binary parents, and same-sex partners may encounter identity challenges or feel marginalized in traditional parenting spaces. It’s crucial to create your own space for mental and emotional health, where you can find support and validation. Acknowledging and addressing these unique experiences, while seeking out inclusive resources and communities, helps you stay strong and connected as a parent, partner, and individual. Every family deserves to thrive, and that starts with making space for your well-being.
