Eduardo Ildefonso, Advanced Graduate Intern

He/Him

Hello! I'm Eduardo, a current master’s level mental health counseling student at Northwestern University. I value effective counseling rooted in diversity, collaboration, support, and safety. As a first-generation Hispanic American (Bronx, NY native), my work is driven by helping others of all populations/communities (especially marginalized) reach their maximum health. Equity, equality, and social advocacy are the foundations behind my pursuit in becoming a licensed counselor. The goal is to hold a safe person-centered environment that enhances the processing/understanding of mental, emotional, and physical health.

Through a combination of methods, I practice from a person-centered approach. Focusing on active and empathetic listening, positive regards, and collaboration, the intent to have the client be a leader in their journey/growth. Additionally, cognitive reframing is used to help clients recognize their strengths regardless of their current situation.
I invite everyone to join me in collaboratively facilitating a safe, responsible, warm, yet productive atmosphere to explore the inner you. Open person-centered dialogue is encouraged and used in creating an effective environment for all individuals. I am accepting clients (within NYC & NYS).
