Hello, I'm Eduardo/ Eddie
My Story
I'm Eduardo Ildefonso, a current master’s level mental health counseling student at Northwestern University. I value and strive to uphold the purpose of effective counseling rooted in diversity, collaboration, support, and safety. As an openly gay first-generation Hispanic American born/raised in the Bronx, NY, my work is driven by helping others of all (especially marginalized) populations/communities reach their maximum health. Equity, equality, and social advocacy are the foundations behind my pursuit in becoming a licensed counselor. Counseling is the collaborative relationship between a therapist and client in promoting, developing, enhancing, and processing of mental, emotional, and physical wellness. With it, I plan to create/facilitate a client centered environment that is safe, productive, and non judgemental in hopes of meeting individual client needs.
